The Ocean Drive project is a remarkable example of ephemeral architectural innovation, located in the vibrant coastal town of Knokke. Created by event specialists Laurent Lootens (Lapin Quotidien) and Charles-Louis de Lovinfosse (Profirst International), this summer event is not just a fleeting concept but an artistic and commercial experience that resonates with the seaside lifestyle. The creative agency Prokaz.lab was tasked with capturing the essence of this unique project through a series of architectural photos, emphasizing its vibrant atmosphere, the innovative design of the pop-up installations, and the dynamic energy of the surrounding area.
Set on the iconic Kustlaan, in a temporary space provided by Groep Versluys, Ocean Drive represents a bold collaboration between contemporary art and architecture. Jean-Luc Moerman, a prominent figure in the Belgian contemporary art scene, transformed the building’s facades with a colorful and bold design. This temporary art installation revitalized the building until its scheduled demolition later in the year. The bright and playful facade contrasts with the building’s ultimate fate, turning it into a final spectacle before it is replaced by a new luxury residential development.
The result is a visual narrative that reflects the spirit of the Ocean Drive project. An intersection of art, architecture, and lifestyle, where the past meets the future, and temporary installations create lasting impressions.
